We believe that theatre is essential to a healthy society.
We’re looking for outstanding candidates that embody that belief to join our team.
With over 85 world premieres, GCTC has made a strong commitment to advancing Canadian theatre and the creation of Canadian plays. The company has a long history of creating theatre that is compassionate, thought provoking and immediately relevant.
GCTC is located in Ottawa and includes a 262 seat, modern main stage theatre and a black box, flexible studio space. We own and operate the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre and take our role of mentoring, supporting and sharing our resources with the artistic community seriously. In fact, this is an integral part of our identity as an arts organization.
GCTC work culture:
We are passionate about live theatre, the performing arts, and our local arts community;
We work to continually increase accessibility, inclusivity and diversity;
We are proud ambassadors for our theatre company in the local and global community;
We strive to create a collaborative, fun, and creative environment;
We are resourceful, compassionate, intuitive and innovative.

The upstairs offices are open-concept, with an open, shared break-area

Anti-racism/anti-oppression
GCTC recognizes that it is not separate from cultural conversations about race and oppression. Our theatre’s name pays tribute to a nation with a history of oppression and our mandate to foster “Canadian” work has often excluded the very peoples upon whose land we perform. We are currently examining our practices and engaging in company-wide discussions with a goal of moving further toward anti-racism and anti-oppression. We hope you’ll join us in this ongoing effort.
